Sentitelo in questo vecchio talkshow americano (The Dick Cavett Show) quando al conduttore che gli fa notare come a Woodstock avesse suonato l’inno americano “The Star Spangled Banner” in un modo, come dire, poco ortodosso lui tranquillamente risponde:
“that’s not unorthodox… i thought it was beautiful”
(non era poco ortodosso… ho solo pensato fosse bello!)

Risposta che rende perfettamente lo spirito del personaggio! E non perdetevi la gag finale…

Il modello originale di Gibson Les Paul risale ai primi anni del 1950 quando la Gibson Guitar Corporation per tenere testa alla Fender, che aveva iniziato a produrre la Telecaster, ingaggia il chitarrista Jazz Les Paul come consulente per progettare il proprio modello di chitarra solidbody.

Sembra però che Les Paul si sia limitato a firmare il modello e a dare qualche consiglio tecnico per migliorare un prototipo interamente progettato dalla Gibson, in ogni caso il risultato è quello che noi tutti conosciamo.
